Knowing which data fields are important provides the base table structures for normalization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Examples of structured data include:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RFID logs<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Search Indexes <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shopping records from \u201cbest customer clubs\u201d at supermarkets<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Readings from sensors<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GPS signals from cell phones showing who is calling whom<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GPS in cars to allow insurance companies to track speed and rate of braking by their insured for use in pricing<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rides Uber drivers have given passengers is shared with the US government<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Criminal Records<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toll-Booth readings<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Marital status, number of children at home, first new child at home, number of children versus number of bathrooms, and when last child leaves home (empty nest) are events that could trigger a change in home ownership. \u00a0The date mortgage was originated, mortgage balance versus home value, and property tax loans are important factors as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>Unstructured data is not organized in a table or Excel format.<\/em> \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>It includes:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Photos<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Videos<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Social Media Posts &#8211; Such as Facebook and Twitter<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Text documents<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Data in reports &#8211; Such as appraisal reports that cant easily be retrieved<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>The internet is the ultimate source of unstructured big data.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Big data can be assembled from numerous sources:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Computers in autos, airplanes and other machines monitor not only the machines\u2019 performance and when repairs are needed;
